Stephen is a student in the prestigious dual-degree Program in Liberal Medical Education (PLME) at Brown University, where he majored in Health & Human Biology and Africana Studies during undergrad. After graduating in May 2017, he took a year off and worked as a medical scribe in the Montefiore New Rochelle Emergency Department, in addition to assisting with smoking cessation research directed at patients with opioid use disorder. He is now a first-year student at the Warren Alpert Medical school and is excited to continue his medical education.

Stephen has had a longstanding interest in Emergency Medicine,  global health, health equity, and public health policy. An avid performer, he is also interested in exploring the role of performing arts in health education, advocacy, prevention, and palliative care. He has previously worked and volunteered as a peer tutor and student mentor.

Stephen is most excited to continue mentoring and share his experience with applying to BS/MD programs, as well as tips for standardized tests and AP exams. Thanks to his parents, Stephen is very service-oriented and believes in the importance of being well-rounded. He looks forward to sharing these insights with his mentees and helping them become competitive applications.
