Shah is a first-generation American who graduated from Albany Medical College in May of 2023. Shah is an ophthalmology surgical resident at Tufts Medical Center and New England Eye Center in Boston. As a member of the Leadership in Medicine Program (8-year combined degree medical program), she obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Biology and Psychology from Union College and completed her MBA in Healthcare Administration and Management at Clarkson University. She is passionate about clinical research in areas pertaining to nutritional vision research, pediatric eye health, retinal degeneration/AMD, and diabetic retinopathy. She also has publishing experience in the fields of gastroenterology, surgical oncology, and otolaryngology (head-neck surgery). She has interests in global surgery/ophthalmology, culinary medicine/food insecurity, podcasting, and narrative and artistic medicine. In her free time, Shah likes to dance, travel, do hot yoga, and spend time with her family and friends. She is a proud member of the Alpha Omega Alpha National Medical Honors Society and Phi Beta Kappa National Honors Society.

She graduated summa cum laude from Union College and Clarkson University and was ranked in the Top 15% of her medical school cohort during 1st and 3rd year. She is a huge advocate for mentorship and has been a private premed/BSMD coach for several high school and college students for the past 4 years. Shah is a member and prior chapter leader of AMWA, who also continues to support initiatives for women in medicine/surgery. 


Shah has successfully coached her prior students into their desired BSMD program. Her prior students have been accepted to a variety of BSMD programs across the nation, won National Merit Finalist and national scholarships, and been accepted into other top-tier universities and IV league schools.
